I only got into Minecraft this year and your videos have helped me a lot!
I know this isn't the highest view count you'll get out of a video but I really appreciate you making this video I've been sharing it around with my friends that are interested in learning building techniques and getting started on designing interesting builds.
thanks wels! I always have trouble with depth and trying to make my build better and this helped a bunch! Thank you! Also happy holidays!
take your time coming back to minecraft, but we miss Kingdoms
Hey Wels, Absolutely love your stuff. I hope all is well with you. I just finished binging Kingdoms II. I was wondering if we can expect to see more of that series any time soon.
Hey Wels! Was just coming here to give a suggestion for a video/series. I (and many others) really loved your previous hermitcraft season, where you did "Historically accurate" castle things. How about making a series of making historically accurate everything? Like pick a historical castle, lighthouse, museum, modern build, whatever; and make it historically accurate. Would make for an interesting series, to see you build for example the Red Square, Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Bodiam Castle, the Temple of Inscriptions.... and so on and so on. Just take a history book and build something that looks interesting; historically accurately!
Thanks, Wels. I definitely need to keep this in mind when I’m building. Mine always looks so flat. Great tips!
so that’s what I was missing the one block hight Thanks wels yur awesome
Great video very helpful and inspiring thanks
What happened my Knight . . . Not uploading on hermicraft
Great tips! Hope to see you back on HC7 soon!
Yay depth!
I remember seeing grian videos like years ago talking about not having the logs and planks on the same level but i never fully understood depth but now, a few years later, i understand it a lot more, and i never thiught about vertical depth
Your back, but are you back to hermitcraft
WELS IS BACKK BABYYYY!!
As always, you’ve not just told us to have depth, you’ve shown us WHY we need depth and the difference it makes!
So for context I am going to school to become a dental technician (building dental appliances like crowns and dentures) and decided to see if i could apply this concept to the thickness of the layering of porcelain on the crowns I'm making in class to achieve a more natural effect. We're taught to make the edges not uniform on the under layers for that reason and so far the results are good. I explained the concept to my instructor and she likes the effect so far :)
I now understand why my builds always felt off somehow. I shall now try to fix that issue by playing around with depth, thank you Wels!
I can't ever get depth right I always overdo it or underdo it, so this will really help! Thank you Wels!
Thank you so much for this video, Wels! I've been playing Minecraft pretty much since it first came out, but I could never work out why my buildings looked so bland. This is such a good tip and you explained it so well! I'm definitely going to try to use it to fix my old builds :)
Thanks wels! That’s some really good depthy tips!
I've learned a lot about building from your videos, especially adding depth!
I came to Minecraft from RPGs and adventure/strategy gaming, so building was secondary to me for a long time. I've recently started taking an interest in making better builds, and these tips help a lot. I've heard a lot of builders mention depth in their videos, usually in context of why they are putting a particular block into a section of a build. It's very helpful to have the "why" of that idea laid out clearly. Thank you!
I’d like more videos like this I suck at building. Every time I see a build I have no clue how it looks so good!
Happy to have you back
Yay! Happy to see you post!
I have been building flat for a long time because....Creepers.
watched this, instantly applied this to my build and it already looks a tonne better thanks :)
I can’t believe that I missed the notification for this video! I was so happy when I saw it in my suggestions, welcome back Wels! And don’t feel pressure to upload more, we understand that you have things to deal with IRL.
Building tips! Thank you so much I've been trying to improve lately, thank you Wels youre amazing
Thanks Wels! This was really helpful and I'll add this to current buildings!
Thanks so much for this! The idea of vertical depth is definitely gonna change my buildings for the better!
Please make more hermitcraft episodes i missed it
You used to be my fav youtuber and just watching you doing minecraft just made my day!!!
I love the background musoc
Where have you been
I have had an awareness of this concept for a while, but struggled with how to apply it. Thanks, Wels!
Are There Limitations To depth? Like on Specific Build Styles?
Man, I got so excited when I saw the little "NEW" marker on the video :D I've been looking at builds that use this kind of depth and trying to emulate it for ages with little to no success, so I sort of gave up on building in favor of other tasks in-game for a while, but watching this made me wanna get back into it. I definitely feel like I understand the concept better now :D
“Its really flat” (*shows a flat single wall*) i nearly snort-laughed at that omg. For some reason it was funny
Hi Wels
Wels wels wels... I'm glad your back!
So you wanan get good at building: Just check out Grians 5 B's of building. And then look at some of Pearlecent moons content. Elysium Fire, Gemini Tay and Trixy Blocks are also really good content creators and builders. Builders Refuge is a good mc server for you.
Good to see you back welsknight, Ide luv to see more content like this, i enjoy building tips.
Great to see you back Wels! I loved the video, this will help a lot since I struggle with building
PLEASE UPPOAD MORE OFTEN WELS!!🥺, I REMEMBER when I found your channel at your first episode of h7. You used to upload atleast 4 videos a month... :/
No one is entitled to more videos from the hermits. Wels has some things to take care of IRL, and you have to remember that they all have lives outside of Hermitcraft.
hey, please don't pressure him it's really easy for content creators to get overwhelmed, and that he managed to upload at all is amazing :)
This is gonna change the way I build. Thank you so much, Wels! Welcome back!
Whens the next hermitcraft episode?
Nice to have you back wels:)
You've bee missed! Good to see you again. :)
I've been trying to figure how to make my builds look better, I'll take these things into consideration! Thank you Wels!
This great reminder comes very handy, i`m just about to start a pretty big town build!
Glad to see you are doing well wels :)
Whenever I play modded Minecraft, I like to use vertical slabs to add way more depth.
Welscome back!
Wels! I hope you are reading this. I’ve read some of the tweets and i’m here to remind you that... You are valid, you deserve love,!! Take ur time making videos, take breaks and don’t push yourself! You’re an amazing person and we all love you. The wels protection squad is sad when you’re sad, and happy when you’re happy! We all care about your well being, and we hope you are alright! Ignore the people who are haters, instead think about the positive people! Think about the positive things in your life as well, instead of some idiots on the internet putting you down! Love, Wels fans.
You're back!!! Can't wait for more hermitcraft :D
So glad you’re back
7:52 do you see that dark build there? I think helsknight is coming back soon cuz that is not a block oalet that would fit to the overworld
This does a perfect job of explaining techniques I use on a Daily Basis Streaming.
💙💙💙
What happened to you hope you are okay I love your videos in hermit craft 🥺
Love your videos!
Wells, is the only youtuber who has a similar build style, and that’s why i love his vids
Welcome back to NLworld
minecraft modpack series please please
*looks at bdubs* Yeah his walls are very flat, but Details help it a lot and it's still a banger, but I get it, beginner builders should first learn to build like this
After a day of stressing about university finals, this has definitely lifted my mood a whole lot. I’ve been trying to work on improving my building in minecraft so the vid is greatly appreciated
I love building and i really want to improve my depth, thanks wels (love the peaceful music) #QnA 1: you have a youtuber "Blitz" mentioned in your channel section, why and did you play with him at some point? Main reason for asking is because i've watched him for about... 5 years i think. So im really interested to find out.
I've known Blitz for almost my entire NLworld career. Taught me a ton of stuff about YT back in the early days. We haven't done much together as far as videos go, though.
Bro I hope all the hate calms down you're amazing and a great video creator ❤️
Pls upload more
Why doesn’t Wels have 5+ million subs
hes back!
Yeeeeeessssssss glad to see you wels
Happy you are back Wels!! Are you planning on playing on HermitCraft again?
I am a pretty good builder in minecraft I know so much about styles, depth, pallet, landscaping, but the only thing I am bad at is a good shape I plan building a house but I just keep thinking about shape and end up rage quiting
Y'know I'd consider myself an okayish builder, I texturize walls, I do depth and such, I don't make plain rectangle builds but... I never thought to actually play around with shapes! I'm so excited now!!!!! AAAHH!!!!! I'll never build the same again!!!! I'm so EXCITED!!!!!
Wels is back!
How come you've stopped uploading hermitcraft at only 12 episodes in?
@Skyelre Minecraft Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the reply!
Burnout, he was suffering from it tail end of last season as well. He's done Hermitcraft for many years, it can get stale sometimes I'm sure. I think he's looking for a change in direction right now for his channel, thus this tip video, just trying things out to see what is enjoyable for him.
indeed depths in builds id very important
Just wanted to say your build tips have helped me improve my own building tremendously. Thank you.
Good to see you! Thank you for this information. :)
I love this format. Very well explained. Thank you.
Hey Wells! Glad to see your upload. I’ve gotten back into Minecraft recently and this is perfect timing for me. I’m absolutely going to go back through your series’ and learn from you. Thank you for your work. I hope for the best for you!
I was hoping for Hermitcraft and more work on Welsmart. Iskall and Mumbo and making something better than Welsmart so you'd better hurry before they finish or else it will be irrelevant
HES BACK
Uhm... my “depth” in builds is adding some logs and BOOM! Then I watch this and I understand it doesn’t look that great repeating the same build! 😁 Also glad to see you back!
Thanks you wels lots of tips picked up keep going man ur amazing :)
